How to Save Money at The Airport

Travelling can be expensive, but there are usually some extra expenses you can avoid at the airport. Here are three tips on how you can save money at the airport the next time you take off to travel.

Skip the checked luggage if at all possible. Most prices you’ll find online for airfare nowadays don’t include checked luggage, and those fees can quickly add up if you’ll be taking more than one flight or carrying more than one checked bag. Carry-on suitcases can fit a whole lot more than most people think, and packing methods like rolling your clothes instead of folding them can save a significant amount of space!

Pack some food. Airports usually recommend arriving early for your flight to account for potential problems going through security of customs, but in small part they do it knowing the longer you’ll be at the airport, the likelier you’ll get hungry and purchase some overpriced food. Packing a lunch or a few snacks, items you’ll have no problem bringing through security, can save you quite a bit on expensive airport food.

Bring a reusable water bottle. Much like with food, water can be quite expensive when purchased at the airport. You can’t bring liquids through security, but you can definitely bring an empty, reusable bottle, and fill up once you’ve crossed security.
